An excellent match. West Ham played with real pace and skill up front (Valencia and Sakho look as good a pair as we have seen in the PL outside the big four for many a long year) and they defended with courage and heart.
They also had the luck – City hit the bar twice and the first WHU goal was offside. That said, the champions were flat for long periods and only really came alive when Pellegrini switched from 442 to one up front. A highly enjoyable game, City will feel a bit hard done-by, but West Ham fans should be very proud and happy.
