The Supreme Court has declared Mohammed Sani Musa the winner of the last election for the Senate held in the Niger-east senatorial district of the state
The court annulled the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Abuja, which earlier declared Senator David Umaru winner of the poll
The court ruled that Musa won the primary of the APC for the election and was the valid candidate for the election after the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary The Supreme Court on Friday, June 14, declared Mohammed Sani Musa the winner of the election for the Senate conducted in the Niger east senatorial district. The court cancelled the April 8, 2019 judgment of the Court of Appeal, Abuja, which earlier recognised Senator David Umaru as the valid candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), The Nation reports.
In its verdict delivered Justice Ibrahim Muhammad, the Supreme Court ruled that Musa won the primary of the APC and was the rightful candidate for the election.The court allowed the appeal filed by Musa marked: SC/405/2019 and upheld the Federal High Court judgment in Abuja which declared Musa the nominated candidate of the APC for the election.
